I am sooooo bummed Cry

I got to Dan's about 10:30 to the sound of crickets...

I drove down to Murphy and talked to the sherriff. He thought you went up Wilson Creek to Soldier Cap... (I'm not familiar with the area so he might as well of been speaking Russian...)

So that's the way I went. Suprised some 4 wheelers when I passed them. I thought those tracks I was following looked too close together.

Needless to say, I got plenty muddy. (I'll put a pic up)

I took my GPS and Idaho Gazete map, and I guess I went up Wilson Cr to Salmon Cr. I did a little exploring in both directions... Real Muddy and lots of snow. Then I went up upper something or other to some little watershed place with a cemetary.

I headed up Black Mountain. There was a long steep stretch with waaaayyy too much snow, so I turned around and headed back.

I had a blast, but I wish I could have found you guys. Oh well, next time I'll be on time. Roll Eyes

It is sad that some of the country representatives feel that way about 4wd owners. They really generalized us as all a bunch of bad apples. But I can't say I blame them. They are a rural county without a huge amount of policing resources and a lot of folks go there to play and don't respect the area. We've all seen the bonehead who buried his truck way off trail or seen the results of folks hill climbing on every hill. I think the land can be used for 4wd without trashing it. Or how about the idiots who dump there trash all over the place? Remember the load of shingles we hauled off of Carnage Canyon a few years ago? I'll stay home for a few weeks while it dries out. It isn't like I don't have projects to do around the house while we wait for better weather and conditions.

You guys have no idea how bummed that we were not able to make the run. We have been fighting a bout of Flu and bronchitis around our family, so we ended up spending the day at home. I have to say, I love the various photos, including the proud "Look how dirty this beast is!!", just wish it were mine.

Hopefully, once the area drys out a bit and they allow drivers back into the back country, we will be able to hook up with a few and have a great day out!
